Save the Date! Rules & Refereeing Clinic with Bill Oliver

Date changed to June 14th!

Join us for clinic on fencing rules and refereeing hosted by Bill Oliver, Chair of the USFA Fencing Officials Commission (FOC). Mr. Oliver has been associated with fencing for over 30 years and is a recognizable face to anyone who competes nationally or internationally. In addition, he is the editor of the current USFA Rulebook.

This clinic will be of great interest to all fencers, not just those interested in refereeing. It will cover the rules as they are written, as well as a discussion of how the rules are currently being interpreted and applied by referees. As a fencer or coach, you will want to know this information in order to better understand what the referees are looking for so that you can make your fencing/coaching more effective. A solid understanding of the rules is essential for everyone!

The clinic will run from 9am to 5pm on Saturday June 14st at Rain City Fencing Center. If there is sufficient interest, an advanced half-day clinic on right-of-way topics will be held on Sunday.

The fee for the Saturday clinic is $50 per person. There may be an additional charge for the advanced clinic on Sunday. Fencers from outside the Western Washington Division are welcome to attend.

To pre-register for the clinic, please do so on AskFRED:
